CWRT overview

The Cornwall Women’s Refuge Trust (CWRT) is a charity which was founded in 1979 by women from local churches who sought to provide a temporary place of safety for women and children who had/were experiencing domestic violence.

The Trust has developed over the years and still provides a place of safety for women and children in need of escape from domestic abuse.

CWRT also manages Cornwall’s 24 hour domestic violence helpline which answers over 1000 calls a year.

CWRT can provide emotional support, practical advice on issues such as housing and benefits and can signpost to legal representation.
